Common web wisdom is that the web itself is some form of huge archive, to be categorised, searched, tagged and curated like a vast museum collection. But Gerry McGovern has been questioning that orthodoxy for years, and there are at least four very good reasons for ruthlessly excising content no-one needs any more.
